It's no secret that there are incredibly few dedicated acoustic venues around the New Orleans area. Acoustic Night at Keystone's was an attempt to change that and help rebuild a local music scene which hadn't really been in years, as well as increase the visibility of the excellent acoustic music that the city has to offer that often gets overlooked. Co-conceptualized by Hammerhead's owner Bill Evans and local musician Jak Locke (who also ran and organized the event), Acoustic Night was an alternative for artists looking for a relaxed and encouraging environment to showcase their acoustic creations. The first two Acoustic Nights were held at Hammerhead's before relocating to Keystone's for the remainder of its run which was six months and a day (from January 26th, 2005 through July 27th, 2005) and featured many musicians, both local and from other states, representing a vast number of musical genres. Immense gratitude to Bill Evans, Allan, Frankie King, Angelle Tusa, Kevin Burke and Scott Blanchard for helping make this whole thing possible. Thanks to Louisiana Brown & Panama Red, Rory Callais, Kelcy Mae, Ryan Chatelain, Jay P. Dufour, G-String Bluegrass Band, Shea & Randy, Kerry Grombacher, Joe Schwa, Mark Fernandez, Jack Neilson, Skinny White Chick, Parlor Jazz, Nattie, M.J. Baby & The Last Word, Shotgun House, Balsa Wood Flyers, Nicole Ockmond Trio, Kevin Burke, Mr. Steve, Tsunami, Gina Forsyth, Amy Steinberg, Lee Tyler Post, The Zydepunks, Dave Easley, Lee Quick and Dave Famous for being a part of the event.
